Hi, I’m David! A documentary wedding photographer based in Yorkshire, Uk.

This is your big day, and I would love to be your storyteller. Those stories and special moments you will treasure long after the wedding day. That’s what I’m here to capture.

If you’re looking for a natural, documentary-style photographer who’ll make you feel relaxed on the day, then you’ve come to the right place. I’ve been making couples feel comfortable in front of the camera for over 10 years. The ‘we don’t like having our photo taken’ couple seem to now be my speciality. Take a look at my Google reviews to see what people say. I’m also camera-shy and totally get it! Feel free to send me an email and ask anything you like.

”My husband and I are both ridiculously awkward in front of a camera,

but we were completely at ease with the unobtrusive style and natural approach”

Getting married in Yorkshire

I live in Leeds and shoot mostly in the wider Yorkshire area(but love travelling anywhere). Being a wedding photographer in such a beautiful County is such an easy and rewarding job. Spoilt for choice having some great contrasting locations such as cities or national parks gives you the wedding photography you have always dreamed of. National parks including the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are a photographer’s absolute dream.

As a wedding photographer in Yorkshire, I love the style of weddings I get to go to. Mostly shoot for easygoing couples who want to spend the majority of their day with friends and family. I Cover a range of venues such as rural tipis, rustic barns, mills, marques, stately homes and even country pubs. Great wedding venue locations give you a non-formal and stiff day. Check out these rustic barn weddings at Priory Barn and Thirsk Lodge. Or this outdoor relaxed Yorkshire garden wedding. One of my favourite venues to photograph is the National Trust property East Riddlesden Hall. The area of Yorkshire is also home to a number of industrial Mill’s which is great for a photographer with loads of character and history. A recent wedding at Bowers Mill in Halifax will illustrate this. You really can’t go wrong with a plethora of picturesque backdrops lending themselves to naturally beautiful photography.

RELAXED, CANDID & CREATIVE images….

for people who want to spend time with their guests!

‘’What if I’m getting married elsewhere than Yorkshire’’

No worries at all, as much as I love being a Yorkshire wedding photographer, I also like to travel. This is one of the many draws for photography. The amount of places I would never have seen without having a camera in my hand is outstanding. I travel all around the UK and have been lucky enough to do a number of destination weddings including Italy, Colombia and international waters. I have now visited 65 countries and wouldn’t mind adding more to the list!

Relaxed and natural photography

I would like you to have your day almost as if I’m not there. Do things as you would like to do them. I believe that you will have better and more natural photos if you are happy and relaxed. This is your day and not mine. I’m there to tell the story for you to look back on. The wedding day will go like a flash and your photography will be what’s left after the cake has been eaten and the flowers die. Documentary style images for that natural feel catered to your personalities.
